About this Course
Discover how to create maps and analyze geographic patterns using the most up-to-date tools, as well as how advances in geospatial technology and analytical methodologies have changed the way we do things.
Over the last decade, there has been an explosion of new approaches for comprehending and utilizing location information in widely available devices. Consumer GPS tools, interactive web maps, and location-aware mobile devices have all been developed as a result of the geospatial revolution. These revolutionary developments enable people from all aspects of living to utilize, collect, and understand geographical information in ways never previously imaginable.
Bringing from this course the key concepts in geographic information systems, cartography, and spatial thought with real-world examples to provide the fundamentals required to connect with geography beyond the surface level. We’ll explore what makes geographical information unique, how geographical data is created, how geographical analysis is conducted, and how to develop maps so that they effectively communicate the stories we want to share.
