At Geospatial Network, accessible from, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. We serve clients with new contents and all aspect of Geographical Information System (GIS) and remote sensing, web mapping, environmental studies, geography and online courses.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Our website uses contact forms to collect visitor-submitted contact information and messages. We keep contact form submissions indefinitely for customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through these forms for marketing purposes.

The primary means of protecting your data include two-factor authentication, and regular training in data protection law and practice. I have also carried out a Privacy Impact Assessment which is helped by a comprehensive security audit. The website security is further enhanced by a specific plugin that monitors each and every change to the website itself, who made it, when and to what effect. This is particularly useful for monitoring for anyunauthorised activity such as malicious attacks, in real time, to better ensure a timely response to any potential risk of a data breach.

Additional security is provided by way of a secure plugin with a range of features and hands-on technical support.

If we become aware of any data breaches, our team will immediately asses the situation and take appropriate remediation action. If we can determine that your data has been compromised, we will make certain that you are notified of the breach.

We do not use automated decision making or profiling with user data at this time. All tracking and metrics are only used for overall usage patterns to help up improve our product and better serve our members.
